EDS Ground Fault Locator System (Portable)
In combination with the IRDH575 insulation monitor and an EDS non-portable unit, the EDS portable system allows for the location of ground faults in ungrounded AC and DC systems via a portable unit. Various clamps and accessories are included with each portable unit.

The EDS Fault Location System consists of the following components:

The main control unit: The IRDH575 is the central hub for the fault location system. This unit monitors the insulation resistance of the connected system to check for potential ground faults. Ground fault information is centralized to this unit via an RS485 bus. With this unit, users will know whether a ground fault does or does not exist.

The ground fault localizer: The EDS460/490 series is wired into your system and to the IRDH575. The EDS has up to 12 channels available to monitor 12 different parts of the system. The unit transmits a very small measuring pulse which travels through whatever ground fault may exist. Each subchannel is connected to an external current transformer to check for this pulse signal. With this unit, users will be able to localize a ground fault down to 12 different sub-systems.

The portable ground fault locator: The EDS309X series is a portable tool used to localize this transmitted pulse down to the smallest portion of the system creating the ground fault. A clamp is connected to a portable analyzer to check for the pulse signal travelling through any potential ground fault. With this unit, users will be able to localize a ground fault down to the specific cause. All ground fault location can be down while the system is still online.

The EDS3090PG... is a portable ground fault location system for ungrounded AC and DC systems. The system utilizes an advanced measuring principle to locate ground faults down to the load level. The robust aluminum case includes the EDS190P ground fault evaluator, the PGH18... test signal generator, varying sizes of current clamps, and accessories. This system is designed to be a completely standale portable fault location system and requires no other devices to operate.
